| Here is information on the type of student and instruction you'd expect in our Finale seminars: |
| Basic Finale |
•Students with no experience with computers or Finale software
•Students who have worked with an older version of Finale (2008 or earlier) at a fairly basic level
•Students who have not had a lot of music theory or notation training
•Students seeking to fill in larger gaps in understanding about Finale
•Students seeking input on Finale purchase and installation |
| Advanced Finale |
•Students with a fair amount of experience with Finale
•Students who currently use earlier versions of Finale at a fairly advanced level
•Students who use Finale 2007 or later at an intermediate level and want to catch up quickly to version 2009
•Advanced Finale users who want to create "engraver quality" sheet music
•"Quick study" students without a lot of Finale experience who are prepared to get up to speed quickly |
| Notes |
•You are not required to own Finale, all assignments will be done on the workstations in the PSU Lab
•You will be advised on Finale purchase and installation
•Instruction will be on Macintosh computers, but we will orient PC users to our machines--Finale works in a very similar way on both platforms |
